Prep Time

This recipe does not require a lot of time to prepare. All you need to do is assemble the ingredients, mix the broth ingredients together, and place the frozen halibut in the Instant Pot. In less than 10 minutes you will have a meal ready to go.

Cook Time

The cook time for this halibut recipe is only 8 minutes. The Instant Pot will bring the dish to pressure and then cook the halibut to perfection in no time. Once the time is up, you can allow the pressure to release naturally or you can do a quick release.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen halibut
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

1. Begin by combining the white wine, lemon juice, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Whisk the ingredients together until they are completely combined.

2. Place the frozen halibut in the Instant Pot. Pour the broth over the halibut. Then pour the wine and lemon mixture over the top.

3. Secure the lid to the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is set to sealing. Select the “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” setting and set the timer for 8 minutes.

4. When the time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally or do a quick release. Carefully remove the lid when the pressure has been released. Use a fork to flake the halibut and check to make sure it is cooked through.

5. Transfer the halibut to a serving dish. Drizzle with the melted butter and serve.
